Attended The West Bay Hotel for a meal which was unfortunately not to the standard we are used to from previous management. Staff were polite and eager but overall customer service was poor. Excellent range of beer and cider on draft especially the local ales. The menu had not much choice especially for dietary requirements, high prices for the quality. The potted crab was small, cold and solidified with cold poor quality toast. The soup was too peppery with again labelled crusty bread but was a slice of poor quality bread. The children's menu consisted of fast food dishes assumed from the freezer and was unable to cater for a small portion off the main menu. The goat cheese tart was delicious but nothing technical and would have been simple enough to make at home. The main meals in general were better but didn't match the quality of the price. Toilets were clean. Didn't bother to look at the desserts as we chose to have a cake on the way home instead. We will return in hope of a better experience in the summer when they've found their feet but wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

Lovely beach pub. A very nice pub in west bay, Great food and local ale that is produced in Bridport as well! The new management and their lovely team are doing a great job, having had lengthy conversations with the chefs and bar staff it seems this place is going be a place Ill be returning to very very soon to see all the wonderful changes everyone is bringing to to table.

Always friendly, food consistently good from sandwiches to full menu. Attentive helpful staff. Dogs allowed in bar area. Lovely setting in beautiful West Bay. One of our locals. Gets busy in high season.

Great sandwich lunch spent with my wheelchair bound wife and two friends. Great crab and lovely hand carved ham. Fresh and well presented.Easy level wheelchair access across from their car park into the bar and dining area.. disabled loo if needed.

Definitely visiting Dorset again but not coming back here to eat! Wish we'd spent our money elsewhere! Sorry to the chef as the food was lovely, however the bar facilities aren't!! Beer garden is a dive as was the customer service and it would have been nice to have had a lock that worked on either of the toilet doors! You have the best named bar in Dorset! Sort it out!!!
