Superb facilities but quietly remote with no light pollution and nearby the lovely Lyme Regis. Spotless bathroom facilities.
Excellent experience glamping in late September. Outdoorsy, tranquil and extremely fun. Felt relaxed and revitalised before going back to work, massage at the spa helped!
Cant recommend this site enough! We store our caravan here and they offer tow on and tow off for a small charge and also a set up, legs down, levelled, water, toilet and electric on! We literally turn up and are ready to go! This is a super friendly site, a real friendly community. We Have met some lovely people here who also speak so highly of the site. In high season there is a food shack in which Sean cooks up the most amazing breakfasts, in the evenings our boys love popping down to grab some Cheese Nachos! Theres tractor rides,a play park,a games barn and plenty of space for children to run around and play! The shop sells the most delicious BBQ meat packs which is all local produce too. Delicious!! We are so grateful that we stumbled across this site 3 months ago and have so far had 3 weekends away here! We plan on one weekend a month here wishing it could be more if not for having to work weekends. Any negative reviews you really have to ignore, the owners Esther and Mike couldnt be friendlier and more accommodating and Sean the warden is super friendly too! This really is a gem of a site that is just going to keep getting better and better.
"Terrible and rude attitude owner. Definitely not coming back here and not recommendable at all." I stand by on that above statement my dear Esther. Since you went to great lengths trying to play the victim and some of your lies, let me give you the true facts.1. "You arrived without the correct equipment and so we offered to help you by lending you ours the cost of which to us was 85! So very rude and unhelpful of us!! You then couldnt provide a deposit when asked and we still lent you on trust again so rude of us! Then on departing failed to return the equipment. So your stay resulted in no profit for us and a cost to replace the item for our kindness and trust! This will mean going forward that we cannot help others through your actions which is selfish and unfair! "YOUR FIRST LIE is that you're claiming that I couldn't provide a deposit for a blue extension cable lead. I did made a deposit of 20 on Sunday morning to a man who happens to be the tractor driver that afternoon. Gave my name and pitch number to him. Originally asked for an orange cable that has 3 pins on it but had to return it as it wasn't the right lead, so instead, it was a blue extension cable I needed. On Monday morning, before we left the camp site, I returned the blue extension cable to one of your male staff and got my 20 deposit. So I don't really know where you're getting the idea that I couldn't secure a deposit and didn't returned the equipment. Probably someone in your staff is telling a lie since there was no log book for me to sign it back. So in short, you are making up a lie that has no proof which is selfish and unfair in my opinion.2. "Furthermore your large Labrador dog was penned up in an area no bigger than the dog itself so could not even turn around! He was barking constantly for over 20 minutes without any attention from you so as others on site had concerns and were being disturbed you were asked to stop the dog barking continually you couldnt hear my first request due to the noise it was making at evening time when people want to relax. "-My Labrador was penned up because, if you weren't paying attention as you have obviously, we were busy getting up our tent as quickly as possible from after a 5 hours journey to your hidden campsite as it is starting to get dark. You came up to me without even saying who you are and giving a bossy order straightaway didn't sit well with me. I did heard your first request but chose to ignore you as you are not helping at that time. 3. "You then all piled onto the tractor trailer ride when asked to wait for the second run as there were too many people and you didnt get off and you stood in front of smaller children who then couldnt see anything. You used this facility without paying for it and left without paying for it despite requests to do so I just wonder if you go to the supermarket or other shops/businesses and take things without paying?"Here is your SECOND LIE. Our group was the first one in the queue before everybody else since 6.15pm. The tractor drive came around at 7pm so obviously there is already a crowd. But to hear this from you, that really sounds PETTY especially to whoever fed you this information. Frankly, OUR GROUP WAS THE ONE who gave way to some of the kids as a kind gesture because that's how kind we are, so technically we have every right to be first on the tractor ride. So you're tractor driver didn't see us first in line to begin with and assumed that we're the ones causing inconvenience? That's really low from your team don't you think. THIRD LIE is that you think I was on the tractor ride. Sadly to say my dear I wasn't. As I have said, we gave way to the kids waiting so only few Mums went with our kids. I don't really know what kind of herbal medicine you've been drinking lately and getting this info. So if I wasn't on that ride in the first place, how can you assume that I didnt get off and stood in front of smaller children who then couldnt see anything? Well gathering from your reply alone, not only you sound arrogant but also a liar.
Lovely quiet gentle campsite with friendly staff. Would recommend the hot tub, hubby had a massage and really enjoyed it. Renting the firepit was brilliant spent some lovely evenings watching the fire and stars! I would like to thank them for helping us with our tent in the aftermath of the storm. Overall a lovely quiet site in rural Dorset.
