One of the best cream teas i have had in a long while. Warm scones, including gluten free, plenty of clotted cream and strawberry jam. The hot chocolate was hot and delicious.
Lovely food, very generous portions and a cosy atmosphere. The staff were very friendly and happy to let us take leftovers in a bag!
We have been going to west bay tea rooms for over 5 years and have had some great times. However this last one was a bad experience. First of all there were no seats available which is totally understandable but when you see the owner sat down in the corner whilst we queue is not a great start. We were then lucky to get a seat. No one cleared the table so we did it for them. We then waited to be served and waited and waited. After 10 minutes we were pretty much fed up. Especially when the owner got a cup of coffee whilst we waited patiently. After 15 minutes of being ignored we left. We are now sat in the watch house caf around the corner being served. Such a shame west bay tea rooms have gone downhill as we really enjoyed going there. But obviously they are not that bothered about the customers.
Best cream tea in Dorset. Scones are awesome, Dorset apple cake is to die for...I have to say that you wont find better food anywhere else. However the portion sizes could do with being slightly increased on the cake size. But all in all a lovely place and well worth a visit.
